Privacy Policy

Popwire is an automated trending-topics wire published by Compound Labs. This page says exactly what the site collects, which is very little, and it is written to be checked against the code rather than to sound reassuring.

There are no accounts, and nothing to sign up for

The site has no sign-in, no membership, no payments and no email list. It never asks for a name, an email address, a phone number or a postal address, and there is no form on it that stores anything you type. If you want the wire without following an account, the RSS feed needs no address either.

What the search box does

Searching filters a list already loaded in your browser, so typing does not send a request per keystroke. The query does appear in the page address as ?q= , which means it reaches our host in the ordinary request log for that page, the same way any URL you visit does.

Analytics

The site runs PostHog, proxied through this domain at /ingest so an ad blocker cannot silently break it. It records page views, the page you arrived from, your browser and operating system, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and errors the page throws. It stores an identifier in your browser so repeat visits count as one visitor. No profile is built against a person, because there is nobody here to identify: person profiles are set to identified-only and this site never identifies anyone. Where session replay is enabled on the PostHog project, every form input is masked.

Hosting, images and links out

The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps its own request logs. Story covers and story data are served from a Supabase project this studio runs. Story pages link out to the outlets that reported the story and to the accounts the wire publishes on; once you follow one of those links you are on someone else’s site, under their policy, not this one.

What is never done

Nothing here is sold, traded or shared for advertising. There is no ad network on the site, no retargeting pixel and no data broker in the path.
